No-Glue paper-flower garland

Hi ppl !!!! Am back with a DIY.

Have been planning to post this easy-to-make, no-glue DIY flower garland since long but did not get enough time. Finally here is the tutorial for you.

P.s. The papers shown in the procedure are of different colour because I made various colour flowers for each garland.

Now the final step. Once you got the flowers ready tie them using a thread just as how you would tie normal flowers into a garland. If you do not know how to tie a garland ask your mum she would know. Though I made one garland myself, my aunt helped me to do the other. You can see her doing it in the below pic.

These are the garlands which we made:
(The yellow one is still in the making. Have some plans to embellish it. will share once it is done)

I made this all by myself !

Up-cycling old pants into a pouch

Hi

I am back with an easy DIY Project.

There is this favorite pair of pants of mine which I could not really throw away. Also, since many days I was thinking of making a pouch. But you know, I do not have a sewing machine and nor do I know how to use a sewing machine. I had been thinking of making a pouch which involves less sewing and then I got this idea. since both sides of the leg of the pants are already stitched, I only had to stitch up the third end to make into a pouch. As soon as I got some free time, I put this idea into working. I stitched my nephew's name coz I did not have any other idea in mind and also I have been thinking of making something for him with his name on it. And you know what, it exactly fits his Samsung Tab. He is so very happy to have a pouch with his name. Here is a detailed tutorial on how I made the pouch

In the end I had to add a zip or button. I did not have button ready at home. And adding zip required sewing machine(did not have a zip also ready at home). Since Rishith was gonna use it for his Tab it did not require full zip so I thought why not add a little ribbon bow, just to prevent the Tab from sliding out. And here it is all done.

Crepe paper and ribbon Flowers

I had made crepe paper flowers earlier using this tutorial:

I used them on my DIY photo frame. Since it was my first time, flowers did not come out that well.

After my exams got over, I immediately decided to sit and learn to make some flowers. These are the end products

I still did not master, the art of making perfect flowers. Also there are lot many styles to learn.

Life update

Hi people,

As usual, my posts occur once in a blue moon, but hopefully in a few months I ll write often.

Coming to my life. It ha s been study study until May, for the exams. Then in June, I had to give Company secretary Exams. Mid June to Mid July was fun at my sister's place. Since it was vacation time for my nephew too, got to play and spend lot of  time with him. This was the first time I spent so many days with him, without worrying about office or studies or his school.

In the end of July I had to attend a Communication skills programme. It was fun. A lot of fun. I made many new friends. Learnt a lot. The activities were super fun.

And I saved the best bit for the last. My exam results had come in July and I cleared one group in CA final. One more group and I will be a Chartered Accountant. I am Excited. Lot of plans for future. Will share all once they materialse.

That's it for now.See you all later.

Lazy Evening -- cheery thoughts !!!

Today I am somehow unable to concentrate and study. So I thought, why not take a little break and post something here.

Did I mention to you all that I have a cute nephew. For me he is the cutest cutest baby in the world. He is super active, super fun to be with. He amazes me each time with his brains. He comes up with an answer for everything instantly. It is absolutely impossible to make him sit for at least five minutes without moving at least one part of his body. Constantly jumping, running. Awesome energy.Love him to bits. I feel his coming into the family made us much more relaxed. The day he is at home is a happy day for us. I am starting to get a bit worried as he is growing( He is going to be 4 this September) because with his school and academics and other things may be he wont have much time to spend with me :-(

For now let me leave you with some of his cute pictures.

Life Update

This post is an update about my life.

I am studying to be a Chartered Accountant. I am in the final stage of CA course. It sucks to admit that this May I will be writing CA final exams for the third time. Its a known fact that CA is considered to be one of the toughest exams in India. I did not do well in the last two attempts for two reasons. One being my irresponsibility, level of seriousness towards exams and the other being many family issues. For both the previous attempts, halfway through my preparation there were deaths in the family and many other issues which ate away my time.
However, I should not take that as an excuse coz I believe "Where there is a will, there is a way" .

This time my exams begin on May 2nd. My preparation is way better than previous attempts. Please wish me the best. Hope I clear my exams this time :)

Craftsy Interests !!!

Since childhood I was always into crafting and recycling things at home.Like covering old boxes with gift wrapping paper to make my own pencil stand,  making my own photo frames from paper and cardboard, making rakhis for raksha bandhan festival etc. Even used to try my hand at embroidery.During holidays used to decorate my handkerchiefs with embroidered flower motifs etc. But as I entered Chartered Accountancy course, time became a major constraint because of classes, training, study and any left over time for social networking and television :) However, I did manage to make these items in this year. Tell me how do you like them. And also suggestions and advices about improving myself are always welcome.
Utility wall-hanger
Simple greeting card
Photo frame with paper flowers
Recycled bulb

What do you think about these? Are you also into crafting? Do let me know.
